"Half of the taxis must have been Land Rovers;
I took this as a very favorable omen."

Growing up in Australia, I spent a lot of time driving in old Land Rovers.

Now that I'm in Seattle, I finally have one - well, a Land Rover 'though not an old one.

(Actually, I am looking for a Series Landie; either a IIa or a III. Send me mail if you have one to sell)

If you want to know more about my '97 D90 and see a couple of photos, click here.

If you're a Landie fan (my friend Carrie says there should be a support group for us)

there are several web sites you'll want to check out.

First on the list is Land Rover of North America's own site.

They have specs on all the current models as well as a great Java app. to configure a Landie.

Rovers North have an excellent web-based BBS, for both Series and more recent models.

For information about all Land Rover models, take a look at the Australian 4WD Internet Magazine.

Lastly, if you're interested in buying or selling Land Rover stuff, Bill Wood's main page

hosts the Land Rover Exchange.

Be sure to check out his story on the old Land Rovers he encountered in Darjeelin.

If you'd like a photo of your Land Rover on this page, let me know.

If you're in the market for a Landie, contact Mark Starr
at Hunting Ridge Motors. He has a ton of vechicles available
and can usually get exactly what you want. Nice chap, too.

Both of these photos were taken at the recent All British Field Meet in Bellevue, WA.
The Defender at the top is an ex-Army 90 from the UK. It was built in 1984
and it's remarkable how similar it is to recent models.
I don't much about the 109 but I like it's paint work!

Kelly works at Adobe in Seattle with me.
(who else but an Adobing would send me images in Photoshop format?)
and also owns a white 1994 Defender.

Donna Uetz's original D90 on her first trip through the Rubicon Trail in Califorina.
Here's Donna's new Defender, as well as a photo of "America's Luckiest Brother".
(Donna gave her old Defender to her brother Charlie!)

As I mentioned above, I'm looking for a Series Land Rover.
I have to pass on both of these but thought others might be interested in them.
Blake Morely owns the 1970 SIIa 109' at the top and David Gage has the 1960 SII 109SW below
('though it is a SII, it has several SIII parts; hence the lights in the wings).

This photo of Damon Schimming's D90 is my favourite so far;
the larger version really shows off the great suspension.
Here's another view of the same thing... and another.

Robert Fendley's "Tonka Toy" (big, yellow and damn near indestructable).
No off road pics 'cause no one wants to get out and take them:
"because the ride is so much fun, or because they are afraid I'll run over them."

Steve William's Land Rovers. No Defender, 'though... here's a bigger version.
Steve named the black Disco 'Camilla' because "she is British, she isn't very attractive,
and she will royally screw you right in front of your wife."
Here's Camilla out on the trail and the Eco Disco.

Paul Schumway's '88 Range Rover in it's natural element.
Take a look at Paul's page to see more photos of this ilk.

Peter Holmes' beautiful Series II 109 (or is it a IIa?). More pictures of the same Landie.
BTW, Peter if you ever want to sell it, just let me know, huh? ;-)

Taken from the Defender brochure, this image makes a great
desktop background. I'd be happy to email you a hi-res copy.
